What is preached in religious books does not need to be followed to the letter. There is a reason behind everything. Religions were started to promote unity in spirituality, to promote peaceful harmony, and to find a meaning to life. Alas, they are now just conduits of violence used by a few people to cause a lot of hurt to others. Religions were not started for this purpose.
Religions acknowledge the existence of a higher power, and this needs to be clearly understood. This power is everywhere but we need not fear its vastness. It is present in each one of us. We have the power to do the right thing, to love each other, and to support each other through our days of pain.
Standing together with love—this is true power. The absence of love or the presence of hatred leads to the abuse of this power. We take the liberty of judging people from a limited point of view. We never have the full picture or a complete understanding of any situation, yet we jump to conclusions and judge something as good or bad. Nothing is good or bad. It’s just the perspective of an individual. Why then must we let our judgment influence or affect others?
